Leveraging the Power of JAM: Jan Dhan, Aadhar and Mobile

JAM vision, will serve as the bedrock of many initiatives to come. For me, JAM is about Just Achieving Maximum.
Maximum value for every rupee spent.
Maximum empowerment for our poor.
Maximum technology penetration among the masses.
-Narendra Modi
67 years after Independence, India still had a large part of the population who had no access to banking services. This meant, they had neither any avenues for Savings, nor any opportunity to get institutional credit. PM Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana on 28th August to address this fundamental issue. Within a matter of months, this scheme has radically transformed lives and futures of millions of Indians. In just over a year, 19.72 crore bank accounts were opened. 16.8 crore Rupay cards have been issued so far. There have been deposits worth Rs 28699.65 crores. A record 1,25,697 Bank Mitras (Bank Correspondents) have also been deployed. It also set the Guinness World Record for most bank accounts opened in one week -1,80,96,130.
While opening millions of bank accounts were a challenge, inducing a behavioural change to get people start using their bank accounts was another major challenge. The no of zero balance accounts have registered a steep fall from 76.8% in September 2014 to 32.4% in December 2015. More than Rs 131 crore has also been availed as overdraft so far.
All this was possible because of PM Modi’s thrust and his power of galvanizing masses and the government machinery. This enormous task was taken up in mission mode and achieved with an exemplary partnership and participation of the government and public.
While the bank accounts have given millions of Indians access to banking services, they have also played a major role in stopping corruption. Now, subsidies get deposited directly in the bank accounts in the form of direct benefit transfers, eliminating leakages and scope for any discretionary action. PAHAL Yojana, recently entered the Guinness Book of World Records for being the world’s largest direct cash transfer scheme. Under PAHAL Yojana, LPG subsidies are directly deposited into the bank accounts. Under this scheme, more than 14.62 crore people are receiving direct cash subsidies. This scheme has also helped identify and block around 3.34 crore duplicate or inactive accounts, helping save thousands of crores. Currently the Government is using Direct Benefit Transfers for around 35-40 schemes and approximately Rs 40,000 crores were directly transferred to the beneficiaries in 2015.
Once the basic banking facilities for people were in place, the NDA Government embarked on a historic move of providing an insurance & pension cover to the citizens. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana provides accident insurance worth Rs 2 Lakh at just Rs 12 per year. Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana provides life insurance at just Rs 330 per year. Atal Pension Yojana provides a pension of upto Rs 5000 a month depending on the contribution. More than 9.2 crore people have enrolled for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima & almost 3 crore people have joined Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana. Around 15.85 lakh people have registered for the Atal Pension Yojana.

Intolerant India, according to Aamir Khan wife

Today, after a huge silence on the topic Intolerant India super star Aamir Khan said that his wife suggested to leave India due to the Intolerant behavior increasing day by day and she is worry of her son's future.I thing Kiran has forgot the love India has given to his husband and make him a superstar. She has forgot aamir has been known as super star of India but now she find India Intolerant.

Kiran Rao who has married Aamir in 2005 has one child "Azad Rao Khan" suddenly she is worry of the future of little master Azad for which she has blame the whole country and called India Intolerant. I want to ask Kiran that from how much time she is living in India and how much tourcher she has suffered while his growth in India.

Being a screen writer, director and producer she has directed the film Lagaan that has shown the Ancient India in which he has shown the fight that Indians do to save there country from Britishers but suddenly after political hype and media unlawful and hate-rate news she make her mind that India is not fit to live. I want to ask him where she want to Live then? USA,UK,France that treat every Muslims as terrorist and inspect them will she want his husband to suffer the same thing Sharukh has faced there. Is she willing to go to Pakistan where there is peace and harmony and her child will have brightest future? Or she is planning to go to Syria where his child should be trained in ISIS camp? Bull shit due to some people nonsense talks and activity she is pointing finger on whole country is this tolerable in my opinion i don't find it any more tolerable she has no rights to say my country Intolerable.

The country who has given name, fame and glory suddenly become Intolerable for her even though there is no conflicts no terror no conflicts even though she found my country Intolerable. If she want to live her life in other country she can but she has no right to say anything about my country. If she find India Intolerable she can return back all the liabilities and benefits she is getting as an Indian.

Intolerance is the world that shows your respect for your country country has not been Intolerant only the people mind has been changed due to political and industrial influence to think India as Intolerant. Why only some Bollywood peoples finding India Intolerable because the way to make black money has stopped, or they are asked to pay proper Income tax over there profit and earnings. The main issue is that India asked for there support in making it developed and they don't want to contribute anything publicly because that will explore the ways of Hawala money and black money. Don't try to hide your saints behind the word Intolerance.

If these continues by you all then we need to form a team to protect the image of my country from you all who are politically and economically motivated.

"If you are Indians then have guts to respect your country else gates are open, you can leave as soon as possible."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to United Kingdom

Narendra Modi on visit to UK, Thursday he will start his journey from Britain, after a huge set back at home in Bihar Election Modi has speed up the communication for having Foreign Investment for India to grow. In this tour he is focused on achieving the target of Investment he planed from UK. Moreover he is looking for some technical aspect that can be implemented in India for fighting various issues.

Narendra Modi is popular in world but he is getting some disturbance internally in India. He has to face huge criticism by the oppositions and Media after working 18 Hrs a day. Even though leaving all these tension far behind he is much more focused on development in India and also have made straight vision to speed up the projects that are still lying in the queue that will help India to grow. Modi has much expectation from UK for business and for investors to invest in India. Many people from UK are looking eager to communicate to our Prime Minister. He is the one who has been denied for the Visa for UK and USA but now these countries are in the queue to invite Mr. Prime Minister to have good relation in business and service sectors. India is one of the main platform for Investors to invest there money and there are so many Investors who are very eager to do so.

Modi in the tour of UK will also visit the place that has been identified as Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar residence. As per the news he is going to inaugurate that place. Now that house is declared as the Indian property by the British government and India is going to turn that place into museum that will educate people about the life style of India's constitution maker. India has achieved the significant victory in nurturing the history.

This tour is moreover looking for success in generating Investors from UK and increasing the development work in India. China is in fear with this such fast growth in India that's why some internal disturbance is been created by neighbors to stop India from growing.

Diplomats say deals worth 8-12 billion pounds ($12-18 billion) could be signed during his visit to London, with the Indian leader keen to buy 20 more BAE Systems Hawk trainer aircraft to be made in Bengaluru.

The emotional high point of the visit is likely to be a mass rally at Wembley Stadium on Friday during which Modi will address some 60,000 supporters from the Indian diaspora in Britain, which numbers 1.5 million.

Cameron's office said Britain would seek to promote London as a centre for offshore rupee bonds and Indian companies were expected to announce plans to issue debt denominated in their own currency.

Narendra Modi is going to interact with Indian community in Wembley stadium which is again a biggest achievement by any Indian Prime Minister. He will be welcomed by lacks of Indian community people in London. The heat that will be blowing in London can be seen in the electronic media. Every one is eager to listen the voice of modi in Wembley stadium. India is hoping for great outcome from these concert and modi ji surely leave his magic there too. As the person who has clear vision of development, humanity and growth will surely attract the audience who prefer development ideas rather than the silent development.

I write this article after recovering myself from the Bihar mandate that is clearly given against development and in support of corruption and Jungle Raaz. Now the mandate has been given but still Bihar part of india will be supported by the central government with same zeal that is supported if BJP is in power there. Now Modi ji is on the new mission to UK and i pray to god that his mission will be going to leave a massive impact internationally it will be one of the huge success story that will be briefed in Narendra Modi bibliography.

Why Modi is Criticized?

Today i am very upset while writing this article, I am upset because of the behavior of media and other so called secular parties that are continuously criticizing work of our Honorable Prime Minister. Moreover, upset with media for there intentions and approach shown for modi only for there TRP and fame. They are continuously raising there level of uncertainty and decorum to show in print media.

Many countries has also complained that Indian media is seriously not behaving like journalist they are behaving like a Daily soap artists. They have made there news channel as a set of Daily soap shows where only one episode continues name "Criticize Modi on every ground". I want to ask one question to them that what vision for India they are taking ahead if some person is being criticize internally only because of political feedback than will it impact the international image of that person or not? Can they neglect the fact that India's growth rate has increased positively with a great speed leaving many developed countries behind in most of the stats released this year. Can they neglect the fact that India's fame has increased all over India because of Ease to do business policy. Have they ever seen this solid growth in the time of congress government. Many countries have publish there facts in media that if India will grow with the same speed than in next 10 year India will be the strongest country in the world.

Narendra Modi being Prime Minister of country works 18 hrs daily and has also improved the work culture in government offices where baabu's raaz and lazy work policies are followed. Can they neglect these crucial points that Cleanliness has become the key vision to take India towards health hygiene. Have you ever notice any congress official or any minister who has think in this direction. Have you ever think that when Indian Prime Minister visit any geographical region all the print and digital media covers that program. Are you behaving like dumb and deaf people or trying to act as them. They are much more organized than you all they have a blueprint to live life but you all in the sake of wealth and popularity you all have degrade your standards.

Modi is the first Prime Minister who has taken the initiative to make India developed before that all are busy in solving the internal issues in all his time interval. Modi has lighten the candle that has made the surroundings bright to welcome the opportunity and to cut down the Red tape culture that is existing in the system from many years. But still opposition leaders are busy in sudo-secular politics and have degrade the standard of a politics to such extent that they have started to abuse and use inappropriate language for PM that has broken all modal of conduct.

Kejriwal, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rahul gandhi, Nitish kumar all are busy in defaming the image of our Prime minister. They have degraded the standard of the politics. Kejriwal has made the aim whatever modi will do he has to oppose it, at any extent for that he has redesign the map of J&K at the time of J&K election only to attract J&K people so that Modi could not succeed to make government but his tactics fails completely. Leaving Delhi on god grace he is only busy in garbing the opportunities to come in lime light and to defame the image of Prime Minister. He has compromised his principle only to oppose modi and have shaken hand with Lallu the famous "Charra Chor". Where is Lokpal Kejriwal my question to you? So that was the drama of resignation from CM post of Delhi because of not having Lokpal passed? But now, you are in majority so where is the Lokpal?

All these are busy in defaming one man image but i want to share you one thing you all can only speak but his work will give you answer in every election mark these words. You all can only share the stage but he will share the world stage to take India on peak. Everybody who are opposing modi are enjoying the time of congress government because they are enjoying the unlawful wealth. Poor is becoming more poorer and rich is becoming richer because of there policy do corruption and let other do corruption.

You should think what you are doing are you looking for developed India are you looking for stronger India and when you question yourself you will find the answer as NO, because your blood has corrupted and you all only need the unlawful wealth where you have not to do any hard work. Improve this habit unless you are going to spoil the future of many bright stars.

India–Africa Summit: Terrorism, UNSC reform on Modi’s agenda

The India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) is a celebration of the close partnership between Africa and India. It is an acknowledgement of our shared history as well as our future prospects. From our struggle against colonialism and apartheid, we have emerged to jointly accept the challenges of a globalizing world. Even as we combat with common threats - the threat from international terrorism; the scourge of poverty, disease, illiteracy and hunger; the challenge of climate change - and collectively promote the socio-economic advancement of all our people, we believe that India and Africa traverse the same path, share the same values and cherish the same dreams.

A vibrant India and a resurgent Africa have a vision of a close partnership. A partnership that is anchored in the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit. This vision takes us beyond our strong bilateral relationships, our close ties with regional economic communities and aims to develop a new paradigm of cooperation which takes into account Africa's own aspirations for pan-African institutions and development programmes.

The third edition of the four day IAFS summit which will take place during 26th-29th October 2015 enables consultations at the highest political level between the heads of government of 54 nations across Africa and the Indian government to give a new thrust to our age-old partnership. It provides an opportunity to not only reflect on the past, but to define the road ahead in tune with the times we live in.

From a rose garden to Gandhi's Africa connect, to Modi jackets, the Narendra Modi government has put in everything but the kitchen sink to ensure the Third India-Africa Forum Summit is the most successful multilateral event ever held in India.

With over 40 African heads of state and government confirming attendance, the event is being seen as India's most successful outreach ever to the resource-rich continent which has all major powers vying for influence. Given the time and attention he has spared for the summit, Modi is looking to use his personalised style of diplomacy to not just make the event memorable but to also prove that foreign policy remains his strong point despite recent reverses in the neighbourhood, most notably in Nepal.

The summit starts on Monday with a senior officials' meeting, foreign ministers meet the next day.

The main summit will take place on Thursday. Leaders will start touching down on Wednesday and have bilateral meetings with Modi the same day before going into the main summit on October 29. The main summit will comprise a plenary session and declarations.

The summit is taking place a month ahead of Africa's second such summit with China. Modi can be expected to come into his own in the company of top African leaders like Egypt's Abdel Fattah el-Sisi whom he persuaded to attend when he met him last month in New York.

Modi said Friday that India and Africa must speak in one voice on UNSC reforms. Egypt is a key member of the Uniting for Consensus group which blocks UNSC expansion.

Modi, who believes his own relationship with top leaders is as important as South Block's diplomatic skills, will host a dinner for the African leaders on Wednesday.

Many of them will join Modi wearing the waistcoat gifted to them that is now known as the Modi jacket.

The PM will gift the leaders Gandhi memorabilia picked up from iconic places in Gandhi's life.

Chinese got fear with India fast growth rate

According to TOI news Chinese are doing all possible efforts to stop India to become the permanent member of UN. Recently a case has been raised where some Chinese officials are charged to give bribe to UN top officials. This is clear indication that china is in fear of India fast growth rate and being evolving as a super power nation in the world.

Narendra Modi leadership has made UN to rethink on refreshing the permanent membership list as India is one of the most strongest contestant among other nation in fight.

Narendra Modi ji speech in UN has leave the strong image of the country that is supporting peace, harmony and are new innovators. Modi ji vision to take world on same platform and policies of peace and harmony. Destroying terrorism is the main concern of PM Modi in UN. He has put his words with strong image in front of UN for pakistan that friendship is only possible when pakistan is going to leave these terrorist activities and will fight against terror with other countries. UN also support the words of Narendra Modi that terrorism is the main devil for the world peace policy.

Coming to the topic, arrest of former president of the UN General Assembly, John Ashe, on charges of bribery by the Chinese has vindicated India's suspicion that key top level officials in the UN system were being paid off to delay or scuttle the Security Council reform process, among other things.

Earlier this month, Ashe, former envoy from Antigua & Barbuda was charged by US attorney Preet Bharara for accepting a bribe of $1.3 million from Chinese businessmen and officials for support for a multi-billion dollar "south south" UN-sponsored conference centre in casino capital Macau. Bharara's complaint also stated that other Chinese nationals paid Ashe hundreds of thousands of dollars to facilitate their businesses in Antigua. While only some of the details of the bribery processes have been made public, they are enough to provide a clue to the methods China uses to influence UN processes.

For India, the more important part of the corruption charges against Ashe is the claim that the former GA president was reportedly paid to further Chinese interests. A part of this, they believe, has to do with influencing the progress of UN Security Council reform which China has steadfastly opposed. As president of UNGA between 2013-2014, Ashe started out by setting up an advisory body which drafted a 'non-paper' on the negotiations for UNSC reform. This, Indian officials say, was a simplified version of the 300-page draft negotiation document that was agreed to later in September 2015.

According to news reports on the Ashe case, Manhattan US attorney Preet Bharara, who announced the arrests of Ashe and the other defendants, said the investigation could result in more charges as authorities examine whether "corruption is business as usual at the United Nations." "If proven, today's charges will confirm that the cancer of corruption that plagues too many local and state governments infects the United Nations as well," Bharara said. Ashe, says the complaint, received more than $800,000 from Chinese businessmen to support their interests within the UN and Antigua,

Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN was quoted as saying, UN secretary general Ban ki Moon "was shocked and deeply troubled to learn of the allegations, which go to the heart of the integrity of the UN," Dujarric said. "Corruption is not business as usual at the UN."

If China continues this type of activities indirectly India position in UN and on World stage going to be stronger. Many countries around the world are very much interested in investing there principle in India as we are the fastest growing countries as compare to the other developed and developing countries. All this comes true because of the initiative taken by the India Prime Minister that has catch the attention of the many investors for India. Japan,Russia,Australia,USA and UK are the key investors that are looking to spread there business in India as India is rich in cheap resource but quality product.

SC ruling quashing NJAC a setback for parliamentary sovereignty, Ravi Shankar Prasad says

Telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Friday that the Supreme Court verdict quashing the National Judicial Appointments Commission(NJAC) and restoring the collegium system for appointing judges was a setback for parliamentary sovereignty.Prasad said the National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) was part of judicial reforms which was exercised after deep consideration.

"In our view this exercise was done after deep consideration of more than 20 years which was part of judicial reforms. We will go through the judgment and come out with a structured response," Prasad told reporters.

Prasad was speaking after the Supreme Court struck down the constitution's 99th amendment and the NJAC Act as unconstitutional, restoring the collegium system for appointment of judges to the higher judiciary.

"We believe NJAC act would help strengthen judiciary," Prasad added.

"Various commissions headed by eminent judges, including Administrative Reforms Commission and different parliamentary committees had recommended NJAC," said the communication minister, who is a lawyer by profession and a former law minister.

"Even former chief justice JS Verma had publicly raised misgivings on the working of the collegium system and had suggested a serious think," he added.

Prasad said the NJAC bill was brought to Parliament in a "truly remarkable scenario".

"Our government brought about NJAC bill in a truly remarkable scenario in the country.

"There was complete political unanimity. The Lok Sabha passed it without a single dissent and in the Rajya Sabha there was only a single walkout.

"Twenty legislatures of the states unanimously approved it despite the continuous divide in the politics of India," he said.

Law minister D V Sadananda Gowda said the next course of action will be decided after consultations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Cabinet colleagues.

"We are surprised by the verdict of the Supreme Court," Gowda told reporters in Bengaluru.

His thinking of fighting against poverty and corruption instead of fighting with each other is very appreciable. Some so called secular media say that he is biased for one religion but his efforts for that girl disapprove the statement of corrupt and sudo-secular media.

I am writting this article to higlight the great humanity shown by our Prime Minister which can't be done by so called secular politicians.

This is a real stroy from Agra where 8 year old girl is suffering from the serious problem which is going critical and critical and he has nothing in hand to operate his girl as the treatment for this problem is very much coastly and he has loose his hope and the time has come when he give the condolence to the family that he can't save his girl because of the financial issue. But suddenly some of his relative give him the Idea to write letter to PMO where our respectable and lovable Prime Minister sit he like the idea and written very imotional letter that describe his impotece of financial condition that he was suffering due to which he is helpless in saving his child. That letter was send to PMO with his last hope of getting success. He is not sure about this idea as secular media has made the image of Narendra Modi that he is not with muslim but he is schocked when he got reply in 2 days after he posted the letter in which he has given assurace of all possible help for his girl treatment. He is totaly amazed by seeing such humanity from our Pradhan Sevak and his hope and confidence for his girl regain back.

This is the story in the month of may which has not been publisised by the media officials as this news is related to humanity of our Prime Minister and this news can give boost to popularity among the different religion of the society so this news has not been covered.

A resident of Mantola area in Agra, Tyeba, daughter of Mohd Khalid and a student at the Anwari Nilofar School, had a defective valve in her heart and was living a difficult life. With the cost of treatment of even minor ailments becoming more and more expensive, obtaining a health insurance has become imperative for everyone who can afford it. But for 8-year-old Tyeba from Agra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proved to be the best health policy the little girl could ever buy.

Inspired by Dr Kalra's words, Tyeba wrote a touching letter to Modi, requesting his help in getting a better treatment which was beyond the financial ability of her parents. Touched by the 8-year-old's appeal, the Prime Minister's Office immediately responded to the letter and arranged for her treatment at New Delhi's GB Pant Hospital, where all the expenses incurred in her treatment will be borne by the government.  Khalid also received another letter from the Health Ministry, asking him to report to the hospital as soon as possible so that Tyeba's treatment could begin.

Talking to India Today, Khalid said it was all a dream for him. Writing a letter to Modi was the last-ditch attempt for him. To find that Modi actually took cognizance of the letter and arranged for his daughter's treatment was beyond his belief. He said that he wants his daughter to grow healthy and strong soon, so that she can continue her studies and serve other sick people by becoming a doctor herself.

Expressing pleasure at the step taken by the Prime Minister to ensure health support to Tyeba, prominent industrialist and chairman of Agra Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Chamber, Puran Dawar, said that after a long time, India has found a compassionate prime minister who actually listens to the 'mann ki baat' of the people and acts on it. "It shows the commitment of the Prime Minister towards the welfare of poor, without any consideration of caste of religion," he said.

"If every politician in India could take a page out of the Prime Minister's book and finance the treatment of at least two underprivileged kids every year, this country will be blooming with new blood that is willing to work for the betterment of this country,"

Incident of Dadri is very unfortunate but opposition should not play politics of polarization

Narendra Modi Prime Minister of India, vision for country "Sabka-Sath-Sabka-Vikas" is taking very seriously so he don't want any distressing situation in the country. When he come to know about the Dadri Incident he is hurt by the news and said that the killing of 50 year old man in dadri and stopping the concert of Gazal Singer "Gulam Ali" is very sad. This type of things should not be repeated as this will going to fade the image of India on International ground.

He clearly state that this incident invited nationwide condemnation. He said Hindu and Muslims has to fight with poverty on the same ground why they are fighting with each other.

BJP has never supported this type of Incidents. It is the opposition that is giving fire to the incident to make there ground by polarizing people on the basis of religion.

However, there is no connection to the Centre and these issues are related to law and order and the concern of the state governments," the Prime Minister said in an interview to Anand Bazaar Patrika.

This is the first time that Prime Minister Modi has spoken not just about Dadri, but also about the events in Mumbai against Pakistan's Ghulam Ali and former Pakistan minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri.

“This type of debate has also emerged in the past. BJP has always protested against this type of pseudo-secularism. However, facing this kind of social evil today, these debate has cropped up again. With discussions this debate can be settled.”

Dadri's 50-Year-old Akhlak is dragged out by 200 people and beaten to death only after getting the news from the loudspeaker of cow slaughtering and eating it. Concerned over communal incidents in Dadri and other places, the Centre had last week asked all states to take strict action against those who attempt to weaken the secular fabric of the country by exploiting religious emotions.

BJP leaders like "Mahesh Sharma, Sanjeev Baliyan and Sangeet Som ji" have visit dadri and give condolence to the family but the oppposition has made it political agenda and tried to stop Bhai Sangeet Som to reach the venue. But none of the political agenda has able to stop him.

STOP FIGHTING ON BASIS OF RELIGION IF YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THAN FIGHT FOR POVERTY: Narendra Modi

Little Dhivagar Needs Your Help in Battling Thalassemia

Selvakumar has been running around for help for the last three and a half years. He has been knocking on peoples' doors, strangers and friends, and pleading for help.

All this because he needs to save his son Dhivagar's life. Dhivagar suffers from beta thalassemia major and urgently requires a bone marrow transplant.

Please show your support to this child by visiting

Dhivagar is going to turn 4 this December. And almost all his life, he has been sick. Dhivagar was 6 months of age, when he started falling ill. Selvakumar recollects, “He was constantly running a temperature and always had a cold.” The baby would also find it difficult to fall asleep. He would be up all night, crying, because he was always in a lot of pain, says Selvakumar. His hair fell out and his skin turned pale.
Dhivagar's worried parents rushed him to various doctors in their hometown of Dharapuram, in Tirupur district, Tamil Nadu. The doctors suspected that Dhivagar might be suffering from some form of blood disorder and told the parents that an operation might be required. They suggested taking the child to Coimbatore in order to receive better medical treatment.
When Selvakumar and his wife conveyed the doctors' suggestions to their family, the other members of the family immediately rejected the idea of taking Dhivagar to Coimbatore, as they couldn't afford the expenses that would be involved. A desperate Selvakumar and his wife then took Dhivagar to a hospital in nearby Dindigul, where they administered a blood transfusion in the child. The doctors at the hospital told the parents to take Dhivagar to Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore.
Once the parents brought Dhivagar to CMC, Vellore, a blood test was immediately conducted on the child. And within 20 days, the parents' worst fears were confirmed – Dhivagar had thalassemia.
Selvakumar pleaded with the doctors to do whatever it took to save his son's life. Dhivagar required a blood transfusion every month. And he has been undergoing transfusions every month for the last three and a half years. The transfusions have wiped out the family's finances, and Selvakumar has had to rely on the kindness and support of friends and strangers to gather funds.
After getting the results from CMC, someone suggested taking Dhivagar to Meenakshi Mission Hospital in Madurai for further treatment. The doctors at this hospital told the distraught parents that Dhivagar would require a bone marrow transplant as a permanent solution to his illness.
It was then suggested that Dhivagar be transferred to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, where Dr. Revathi Raj could provide alternate solutions. Once the family arrived in Chennai, they visited Dr. Revathi Raj, who told them that the parents and their elder son be tested as potential donors. Unfortunately, none of them were a match for Dhivagar. Dr. Raj then helped find a foreign donor for Dhivagar. Whilst the donor was found, the procedure for the transplant could not be completed as there was a shortage of funds.
Selvakumar has tried everything that would help with the funds required for Dhivagar's transplant. He has tried to apply for the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for medical treatment; however, his application was rejected. He applied for the Chief Minister's health insurance scheme, Tamil Nadu – this too was rejected, as a clause states that only family members who are donors for the patient are eligible for the scheme.
Selvakumar is a daily labourer, working as a loadman in Dharapuram. His wife is a homemaker. Their elder son is a student in Std. V. They require more than Rs. 30 lakhs to proceed with Dhivagar's transplant. “My income is barely enough to get us by daily; the amount for Dhivagar's treatment is unimaginable.”Says Selvakumar. It pains him and his wife to see their young son lying listless because of the disease. With your support and goodwill, Dhivagar can soon reclaim his childhood. Contribute now and help save Dhivagar.

India to become fastest-growing economy in PM Narendra Modi government's 4th year: World Bank

India is set to become the fastest-growing big economy in the world in the fourth year of Narendra Modi's government, edging past China. It's set to clock a 7% rise in GDP in 2017 compared with 6.9% for bigger rival China, the World Bank said in its flagship publication, Global Economic Prospects.
India will recover to 6.4% in the current calendar year itself on the back of higher export growth and bolstered investor confidence with the election of a reform-minded government at the Center, according to the report.
Global growth is expected to rise moderately to 3.0% in 2015 from 2.6% in 2014 and further increase to 3.3% in 2017, the report said, pointing out that there will be significant divergence in trends and that the "oil price collapse will result in winners and losers".
It warned that risks to the outlook "remain tilted to the downside" because of weak global trade, financial market volatility as interest rates in major economies rise, strain on oil producers and a risk of prolonged stagflation or deflation in the euro area or Japan."In this uncertain economic environment, developing countries need to judiciously deploy their resources to support social programs with a laser-like focus on the poor and undertake structural reforms that invest in people," World Bank president Jim Yong Kim said in a statement.
"In India, export growth has been robust, and investor confidence has been bolstered by election of a reform-minded government. The current account deficit and elevated inflation—both persistent vulnerabilities—have declined considerably. Over the medium term, growth is expected to rise steadily to 7% as reforms begin to yield productivity gains. This is expected to benefit other countries in the region which receive remittances from India," the World Bank said in its report.
In an interview in Monday's ET, Kim had said India is one of the few bright spots along with the US in the world economy. It will also benefit from softer crude oil."Among st large middle-income countries that will benefit from lower oil prices is India, where growth is expected to accelerate to 6.4% this year (from 5.6% in 2014), rising to 7% in 2016-17," the statement said.
The new government has undertaken a raft of measures including liberalizing foreign direct investment in defence and insurance and opening up railways, passed ordinances to auction coal blocks and ease land acquisition to boost business sentiment and pump prime growth that witnessed decade lows of sub 5% in last two fiscal years-.Growth in 2014-15 is expected to recover and climb to 5.5%, according to forecasts.
The World Bank sees softening in oil prices as a window of opportunity for implementing subsidy and energy tax reforms in oil-importing countries such as India.India has already deregulated diesel prices and is looking to further reform subsidies after the expenditure management commission submits its report this month.
The report sees three key challenges for developing countries — monetary, benign cyclical environment and need for structural reforms."Developing countries face three major policy challenges.
First, monetary and exchange rate policies might have to adapt to the more normal (that is less easy) financial conditions that will eventually accompany the recovery in high-income countries. Second, some developing countries that face benign cyclical environments should rebuild fiscal space, which would allow them to use counter cyclical fiscal policy when needed.
